Duchess
German Shepherd/Lab Mix

BEAUTIFUL OLDER DOG IN SEARCH OF LOVING HOME!!! This sweet girl has had a rough life, but she has still maintained a very loving personality. Duchess is a very attentive girl, and just loves being part of a family. Duchess is house-trained, crate-trained, spayed and up-to-date on vet care. Duchess is around 8 years old. She is well mannered, and doesn't jump up on people. She shares a foster home with 8 other dogs, and gets along with everyone. Her adoption fee is $100. Do you have room in your heart for Duchess? She has room for you in hers. Email us at dogs315@northstate.net if you have room for Duchess.

Gigi

Gigi is a great dog who found herself in need of a home when her previous owner past away. Gigi is about 8 years old, but she doesn't have an old attitude. She still enjoys playing with other dogs, even puppies. Even though she is young at heart, she has the wisdom of an older dog. She is very well behaved and knows how to stay out of trouble. She is a very low-maintenance dog and a joy to have around. Gigi is very loving and is always quick with a kiss. She is up-to-date on vet care, spayed, microchipped and housetrained. She is also crate trained, but she can hang out in the house without beind distructive. Gigi's adoption fee is $150 and a fenced in yard will be required to adopt Gigi. Please contact us if you have room in your heart and home for Gigi @ dogs315@northstate.net

Sarge

Sarge came to us from a shelter that was being shut down by the state due to inhumane conditions. Sarge has turned out to be a great dog. He had some dental issues when he first came to us and had to have some teeth removed. He is very healthy now. Our vet estimates him to be about 10 years old, but you would never know it by his attitude. Sarge is a very friendly, outgoing guy with a lot of love to give. He is up to date on vet care, and neutered. If you would like to give Sarge a forever home, please email us at dogs315@northstate.net.

Ben Shephard Mix Size: Large Age: Young Gender: Male Hi! My name is Ben and I am about 2 years old. I’m a big goofball that loves to be loved on! I love to play with toys all day long! If my foster brother and sister don’t want to play with me that’s ok! I will play by myself with my toys! I love to run around so I need a big enough fenced in yard so I can keep my boyish figure in shape, but I also love to lay on a cool floor after playing or a nice comfy spot to sleep at night. I am housetrained and will hold it for a while until I can get outside.  I am still a puppy at heart but my foster mom says that I am so smart! She tells me that with a little more training I will be the best dog!! I am good with older kids and usually sit down when they approach me. I sometimes knock the little ones down with my tail when I get excited. It takes me a little while to warm up to other dogs but as long as it is just one or two of them then I usually become best friends with them! (I like girl dogs better though!) I promise that if you give me a chance then I will be the best companion ever! Just look at my big brown eyes? How can you resist?! J Hope to meet you soon!

If you have room in your home and heart for Ben, please contact us @ dogs315@northstate.net.

One by One, they pass by my cage, They say, "Too worn, too broken, too old of age. Way past his time, he can't run and play."

Then they shake their heads and go on their way. A little old man, arthritic and sore, It seems I am not wanted anymore. I once had a home, I once had a bed, A place that was warm, and where I was fed. Now my muzzle is grey, and my eyes slowly fail. Who wants a dog so old and so frail?

My family decided I didn't belong, I got in their way, my attitude was wrong. Whatever excuse they made in their head, Can't justify how they left me for dead. Now I sit in this cage, where day after day, The younger dogs get adopted away. When I had almost come to the end of my rope, You saw my face, and I finally had hope.

You saw through the grey, and the legs bent with age, And felt I still had life beyond this cage. You took me home, gave me food and a bed, And shared your own pillow with my poor tired head. We snuggle and play, and you talk to me low, You love me so dearly, you want me to know.

I may have lived most of my life with another, But you outshine them with a love so much stronger. And I promise to return all the love I can give, To you, my dear person, as long as I live. I may be with you for a week, or for years. We will share many smiles, you will no doubt shed tears.

And when the time comes that I must leave, I know you will cry and your heart, it will grieve. And when I arrive at the Bridge, all brand new, My thoughts and my heart will still be with you. And I will brag to all who will hear, Of the person who made my last days so dear.
