Macy
Black Labrador Retriever Mix

Macy is a sweet little girl who found herself homeless. A kind lady found her and surrendered her to Ruff Love. Macy is a bit timid with people until she gets to know them. She is great with other dogs, and she likes kids too. Macy will need a patient adopter who will help her become less timid. Macy is up-to-date on all her vet care, spayed, and micro-chipped. Summer
Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Female

Summer is a great dog for children and loves being around and playing with other dogs. She is very bonding and loves human contact. She is very active and would have to have a 6’ fence or invisible fence. She can jump right over a 4’ fence. Asher loves to play with his bigger foster sister. He is very affectionate and loves to give kisses. Meet Roxy, a sweet affectionate American Staffordshire Terrier. Roxy's previous owners are military and got stationed in England. They were not allowed to take Roxy with them. It broke their heart, but they had to surrender her to a rescue. The good news is that Roxy did not end up in a shelter!!! That would have broken her heart. Roxy loves to be around people, big and small. She is very social. She likes to play with other dogs, but we are not sure how she is with cats. She is crate trained, house trained, up-to-date on vet care and spayed. A fenced in yard is required to adopt Roxy, and her adoption fee is $150. Andy & Otis were born in November 2007.  Andy and Otis are up to date on their shot, micro chipped and neutered. They were scheduled to be euthanized at only 6 weeks old.  Thanks to a young lady home from college these guys were given a second chance at life.  They are both very playful and full of energy.  They will be about 25-30 pounds when full grown.  They get along well with other dogs and cats.  They are crate trained and house trained.  If you are looking to add a very active fur friend to your family please email us at dogs315@northstate.net.

Bennington

Bennington was found delirious, wandering the streets, two days before Christmas 2007. He walked into a yard and the people tried to find his owner because they could not keep him. Ruff Love was contacted and we went and got him. He had been hit by a car and had a large hematoma on his side. We took him to the vet and he had to have surgery and drains put in to relieve the pressure. We also had him neutered and all his vetting. Bennington's heartworm test came up positive and he has been treated. He is ready for a new home with lots of love. He is crate trained and does well with other dogs. Dottie
Lab Mix
Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Female

Dottie is a 1 year old black lab mix. She and her family were rescued from the side of a busy highway.  She is a very even tempered dog who loves  interaction with other animals as well as humans. She is still very much a puppy and loves to run and play in her big fenced in backyard.  She is crate trained and is in the process of learning how to walk on a leash.  She sits when asked and is learning some more basic obedience skills.  Dottie is very smart and is a quick learner, she is very curious about cats and tends to show it by chasing them.   Dottie needs a home where she can run and play and gets lots of love and attention. Hi!! I'm Rock!! My pal, Metallic, and I were dumped out by a barn. Luckily, a lady came along and rescued us!! We were in pretty rough shape. Anyway, that was 3 weeks ago, and now I am clean and learning what it means to be a "pet". I am learning basic obedience and crate training. I am up-to-date on vet care, neutered, and micro-chipped. The one glitch in the situation is my foster mom cannot keep me much longer and so I am looking for either another foster home or a permanent home. Vader is a great dog whose family's financial situation has made it so they cannot keep him. He needs to find a family who has the time to give him the love and attention he deserves. Vader has not shown any signs of aggression toward people or other dogs, and he likes to sleep with his Chihuahua friends!! Vader likes to play with his humans, and he just loves to play fetch!!! He enjoys just laying around the house, and will busy himself chewing on his chew toys. Vader is neutered and up to date on vet care. I am a female yellow lab mix who is just now about one year old. I was rescued from the Randolph County Animal Shelter and given to Ruff Love Rescue for a second chance at life. I love playing with other dogs and can even stay entertained by myself when everyone else is worn out. I just recently became crate trained and both my foster family and myself are thrilled with that accomplishment! I am still sometimes shy but as each day passes, I am learning to be more trusting of my human friends. I have a very gentle disposition and would make a perfect addition to a family that will be willing to be patient as I get to know my new surroundings. I just need a lot of attention and love.

Hi!! I'm Olivia I am a seven month old female brindle Terrier mix (whippet/greyhound???) puppy. I am very energetic and playful and have an awesome personality. I love to run around in my backyard and enjoy both chasing my other foster friends or letting them chase me. Either way, I get along with the other animals as well as with any people that I come into contact with. I also sometimes just like to find a nice shady corner of the yard and just relax. I need a family that will appreciate my outgoing style and find the time to play with me. I am crate trained for my night time stays as well as spayed, current on all my vaccines and micro-chipped. I am the perfect age for bonding with a forever family and I am hoping that you are the one to give me that chance. I know that I can be the perfect addition to your household.

Kipper is an adorable Chihuahua mix who was dumped on the side of the road, along with his mother. He is solid white, weighs 7.0 pounds and is now 10 months old.

Kipper is great with other dogs big and small. He loves to play, play, play so it would be good for him to be adopted into a home with another playful small dog. He is housebroken but accustomed to using a doggie-door. Kipper came to us with a bad rear leg. After vet visit’s and x-rays it was obvious that Kipper’s leg was due to blunt force trauma. Weather he was hit at a very young age, run over or dropped we’ll never know. He obviously was never taken to the vet because the leg bone healed backwards and now it’s too late to correct it. He is in no pain and has very limited use of that leg, but you would never know it. He runs, plays, jumps just like any dog.

Meet Roxie…What a hard life this girl has had…. My name is Roxie, I hope you will take a moment of your time to read my story, maybe if I am lucky you will share my story with your friends. I have lived all of my life in horrific conditions with no hope for relief. I hope you will do more than glance at my picture.... look into my eyes. Really look. What do you see? I hope you see a loving heart, a gentle spirit, a sweet girl just longing to forget her past and find someone to love and love her back. Many other dogs have lived with me there, some survived and some did not. I guess I am fortunate that I made it although sometimes I often wonder if they were not the lucky ones. About four months ago, some rescuers came to my property. They seemed upset but were very kind to us all. They brought me food and I was grateful. There were 7 baby puppies there and also the mother dog Lady along with me and three others. The rescuers were so tender and petted me and promised me they would come back and get me. They took two of the puppies with them. A few days later, they came back and got the other four...one was already dead. Two more later died due to malnutrition and parasites and neglect. Two months later, they took Lady. I felt forgotten, but I waited. And hoped. And waited. And hoped. Last Monday my prayers were answered.....they rescued me. I am at Blue Flint Animal Hospital where I feel so safe. Dr Hampton is so kind, she rubbed me and told me she could tell I was ONE OF THOSE DOGS..... one of those that knows they have been saved and is so grateful for every kindness. It is so nice to be treated with kindness...I just LOVE people. I do not like being kenneled with a bunch of dogs around me, too many bad memories. I would like a foster home or better yet a forever home where I am the only dog. I sit here in my cage at the vets, and although I feel safe, it frays my nerves with all the barking dogs and hospital smells. The girls here are so kind to me. Again, day after day , I wait in my kennel. I see other dogs come and go, I see loving families come get them and take them home. I wonder what that would be like, to have a family so happy to see you. Such joy...for them. It makes my heart ache so much. I know I am just as wonderful as those dogs, but no one has ever given me that chance. My spirit is a little broken, but I wont give up. My heart is totally broken, but still loves. I will wait. And hope. Half my battle is won, please help me have the victory. If you want a friend to love you unconditionally, I am the girl for you. If you want to cuddle after a long day, I am the girl for you. If you want someone grateful to have your love, I am the girl for you. All I want is a loving safe home. Did you look into my eyes?.....if you did, I know you saw more than just a poor brown dog with scars all over her body. I have a big loving heart and I know that is what you see. If I am not the one for you, will you please send me to all your friends? Maybe someone they know needs a friend like me. Maybe a family will come get me like those other dog's families do. Oh, what a joyous day that would be! Half my battle is won.....please help me be victorious over my circumstances. I am current on my vaccines, micro chipped and spayed.
